The time can be manually set on the telephone or better yet the date and time on the phone can be set by synchronizing it with an NTP server (Network Time Protocol server). This can be done by logging into your Polycom phone through a web browser. Log into the IP address of the phone:
http://10.0.0.10 for example.

1. Choose the "General" tab
2. Default username: "Polycom"
3. Default password: "456"

• Choose "Time"
• SNTP Server: pool.ntp.org (or any other NTP source you wish)
• GMT Offset: -5 for EST
• SNTP Resync Period: 18000

Choose "Submit" to submit your settings and reboot the phone.

Should the DHCP server not be properly set-up there is one potential issue with Polycom phones and the time settings: The DHCP server will ALWAYS over-ride the time settings from the browser based interface. If the time is not correctly set on your DHCP server then the time will be incorrect on the phone itself.

If the above settings do not correctly reset the time settings for the phone, then the phone is obtaining it's time settings from the DHCP server. You must then, check the DHCP server for the correct time.

Another quick fix would be to assign static ip addresses to the phone and all the other entry would be entered manually.  This is not an effective option if you have more than one telephone.

Yet another option is if you are using the same ftp server to provision the xxxxxxxxxxxx-phone.cfg file for telephones in different time zones, and the DHCP is not assigning time you can push configuration files to the sets in different time zones. the following sample config file sets the telephone for eastern time zone:
